Oakland Labor/Management Collaboration
When Oakland Unified School District saw their health program costs escalating at an unsustainable rate they knew they needed to make significant changes to their program, but without a strong collaborative relationship with union leadership they didn't see how they would be able to make the necessary changes without creating a labor crisis in the district.
After learning about the collaborative efforts of Fresno Unified's successful Joint Health Management Board, Oakland Unified reached out to Claremont Partners helped the district and its labor groups create their own health management board. Claremont partners contributed a legal structure which Oakland Unified adopted, and has begun the process of Health Program Integration™ to help the district move forward with clarity and confidence.
